Recitals, Cole's 1st, & MORE!

My Tapping STAR! Father/Daughter Dance Aunt Courtney's ACU Graduation
Mother's Day with my COOL shirt that Abbey made!
Lots of presents for the b-day boy!
Hold up a BIG 1!!!
I'm WAY behind with the updates, so here it goes! Abbey danced in her 2nd recital on May 6th and was adorable all dressed up in her tap and ballet costumes!! So far she is still loving it, so we'll more than likely do it again next year unless something changes over the summer. Both grandparents were there to watch their little star and Abbey just ate it up! As a bonus, the studio offered a father/daughter dance so Abbey got to dance the last dance with her daddy; it was a hoot, wish I had video to show!
The next big event was Aunt Courtney's graduation from ACU, so we all headed out to Abilene for the weekend festivities, a whirlwind but still a great trip; way to go Aunt C!!
Then we had...Cole's 1st Birthday Party!!! Yes, my baby is now 1 and showing off more toddler tendencies every day!! It was a great party (bug themed) for my li'l bug and no tears the whole day! We had our close family and friends come, some from out of town to celebrate the blessing and life of our sweet little boy! What a year, but Oh how many praises we have to give for the health and protection God had given Cole!! Cutest part of the day was before we sang "happy birthday", we asked Cole to hold up a number 1 and show everyone how old he was, well he did...and stuck that little number 1 all the way up his nose; what a BOY!!! And of course with turning one, comes new territory like, touching all the "no, no's", climbing the stairs, wanting anything big sister has, and saying lots of new words like baboon (balloon), up (cup), sss (sissy), bye, bye, hiiiii, and our favorite pup (for poop)!
Abbey has grown up a lot lately, she has been extra helpful with brother and loves doing house chores (I know this won't last forever)! She has enjoyed going to the library and pool this summer and getting together with girlfriends for playdates. It's been great to try and keep busy throughout the week because otherwise she's in school withdrawl (they keep them SUPER busy during the school year)! Mostly she loves playing with brother; I can't believe they're both playing together already!!
More updates to come...our San Antonio trip and Father's Day, whew!! Love to all!

Hey, think I left a comment in the wrong section of the year, but you guys are still precious and I'm glad you had a wonderful family time in S.A. Let me know how those mornings are working out! The only thing that I can imagine more amazing would be if David ever became a morning person! Love, Mom
