Well, if you live in Texas then you KNOW that Easter of '07 held some very strange weather and the Easter bunny delivered goodies INDOORS this year! It was raining and freez'in!! Easter was also different for me in that it was the first time in 27 years I've missed Easter Sunday church. Unfortunetley, Cole had another little respiratory virus (par for the course with the weather changes) and the two of us were home Easter morning. Chad and Abbey headed on without us; I'm glad at least someone was there to represent the Baker crew! And of course, the planning that us Moms go through to get everyone's Sunday outfits coordinating with matching accessories, went to the wind with Cole staying home in pajamas! We DID manage to get some pictures of the day and all in all, NONE of that mattered or was even the point of that very blessed day that we call Easter.
Cole has done much better over the last week or so and NOTHING slows him down!! He is on the go, all the time. We still have 4 more weeks of nursing and then "mother milk cow" is retiring for good!! Sweet while it lasts but after nursing a total of 26 months b/w Cole and Abbey, I'm ready for a little freedom! Cole is crawling everywhere and quite fast AND loving exploring on foot with Mom and Dad holding his hands. Sign language just hasn't worked for this kid and I've been diligent since he was 4 months; now he would rather just say the word! "More" is "MO" and "All Done" is bang our hands on the high chair tray. :) He's saying bye, bye, Uh Oh, Ab for Abbey, Ma Ma, Da Da and his FAVORITE word is "BA" for ball; we LOVE balls!! Go figure, he's totally Chad's child!
Abbey continues to be my little helper and quite the little lady! We're trying to tame some of the attitude that comes with 4 yr. old girl territory, especially the kind that comes in the form of acting sassy to parents! I love her heart though and she is quite the prayer warrior at 4 years of age. She never lets me forget anything or anyone important when we are praying. The maturity in her prayers is amazing and totally humbling as a parent to watch. Watch out world, get ready for the next Beth Moore!! Recently, I took her to Disney Princess on Ice with her friend Emily, and she absolutley LOVED it! Her eyes were as big as saucers, so cute!! She's almost finished with the school year, just 3 weeks left, then SUMMER. Oh my!! What am I going to do with the two of them ALL summer?!
Chad and I are keep'in very busy with our daily jobs, his, in corporate america, mine, in Baker household Inc.! Chad's basketball league just came to a close (YEA for Mom) and are glad not to have another evening committment for a while! We've found another babysitter besides the grandmothers, so we're trying to get better about DATES, such a necissity!! I'm still training 2x a week and loving the results that are now becoming evident; it takes a while to replace FAT with muscle! I'm happy to report that I've lost almost 4 pant sizes (WOO HOO)! Still not where I'd like to be but I'm going to keep on keep'in on! I feel MUCH more entergetic and some of that is due to our eating changes. I've swithed over to whole foods and grains, NOTHING processed and no refined sugars. I've had some whiners off and on complain but overall, we will all be healthier for the changes.
Let us know how you all are doing! I know some of you have e-mailed and said you were not sure how to leave comments; just below this blog you'll find a small icon that says, comments, click on that and it will give you further instructions. Love you all!! Enjoy this amazing weather we're having!!
