The Summer Scoop!

Summer swim lessons
Cole only cried for the first 8 days of swim class!  But we're happy now! :)
Ft. Myers, FL Vacation
Eating dinner while we watched the pinkest sunset you've ever seen
We spotted manatees on a marina off Captiva Island
Cole playing in the white sands of Captiva Island; we found the most beautiful sea shells all over the place.  This was our favorite beach spot; quiet, remote, and so beautiful!!!
Mom, Abbey, and Chad playing in the gentle waves
Poolside fun back at the resort
After dinner by the marina, we went and looked at a pirate boat for kids
We were so glad to have David on vacation with us!
Heading to see a working light house off of Sanibel Island
Abbey and me
Heading out to the beach where Poppy planned a scavenger hunt for the kids (it was THE cutest thing and they loved digging for the buried treasure)!!
Don't you just feel calmer after looking at this picture; we just love the Florida sunsets!
Poppy leading them to the treasure
Treasure found!  Mimi and Poppy had put together little treasure chests filled with fun trinkets for the kids; they LOVED it!
This was the view out the condo kitchen window (marina side)
We stayed at the Pink Shell Resort and Spa... note the pink shell :)
This was our beach view from the living space and master bedroom of the condo; I woke up one morning to this beautiful rainbow and little gift from God
Abbey's recital at the Wortham Center; she was a "Little Jazz Bird"!
Happy summer everyone!!!  Hope you're all having a blast doing whatever your lazy summer days hold and enduring this HEAT (especially if you're in Texas)!!  I'm a little bit behind in blog land, what's new, SO in short, here's what we've been up to:
-Abbey's dance recital at the end of May
-The next morning after Abbey's recital we were off to Ft. Meyers beach and the beautiful Sanibel/Captiva Islands for a week of fun in the sun with my parents and brother.
-Swim lessons every day for the last 2 weeks and the kiddos will continue throughout the summer (I'm serious this year about them actually learning to swim independently and safely) :)
-Gymnastics weekly for Abbey and Cole; they are SO excited about their classes and Mom here has loved the hour of chill time; it's weird, this is the first year Cole's doing classes independently without Mommy... being 3 is such a big new world!
-And we've just enjoyed the lack of constant scheduling and going on trips to our neighborhood pool, playing with friends, going to the library, and movie/ snack time in the late afternoon (neither of my kiddos are napping anymore so I LOVE movie time, ahhhh quiet)!
And that's the Baker summer scoop! :)
